Y-yeah... that’d be me.
“Sorry kid...” he said rubbing his head. “Just...ain’t been called that I’m a while. As far as I know they’re still lookin for me...”
I’m guessin’ maybe the same reason you are
He smirked a bit and looked down. “Hidin from ya family hoping they neva find ya?” He asked with a cold laugh. Bandit looked up at Blondie. “Ya ok...? Mind if I ask what gave me away...?”

”Sorry kid... Just ain’t been called that in a while. As far as I know they’re still lookin for me...”
Blondie nodded, still trying to breathe properly again. He understood being upset when someone discovered your true identity.
”Hidin from ya family hoping they neva find ya?”
He cracked a small smile. “Basically.”
”Ya ok...? Mind if I ask what gave me away...?”
He nodded once more, rubbing his throat one last time. “Yeah... I’ll be all right.” He shrugged and pursed his lips. “I think... oddly enough, it was your smile,” he admitted quietly.
((Just a heads up. It’s late over here so I’m hitting the sack. Catch you on later.))

Yeah... I’ll be all right.
Bandit gave a sheepish smile. “Sorry about that kid. Ya ok...?”
Yeah... I’ll be all right. I think... oddly enough, it was your smile,
“My smile huh?” He asked curiously. “Why my smile?”

”Sorry about that kid. Ya ok...”
Blondie rolled back his shoulders and popped his neck a bit. “Yeah... nothing to worry about.”
He didn’t even try to keep up with his fake newsie accent anymore. Bandit wouldn’t judge him since they were in the same boat really.
”My smile huh? Why my smile?”
He shrugged. “I’m not sure. I guess it’s just something that really defines you?”

Yeah... nothing to worry about
Bandit nodded a bit and looked down feeling a bit guilty. From what he remembered the kid was sick all the time. He would hate that he hurt he kid.
I’m not sure. I guess it’s just something that really defines you?
He looked down and scratched the back of his head as he looked up a bit sheepishly with an awkward smile. “Really? Not anything else...?” He asked reluctantly hoping no one knew just how bad his father had been.

”Really? Not anything else...?”
Blondie raised an eyebrow, noting the hesitation in Bandit’s voice. Something seemed to be worrying him... but he wouldn’t press.
“Nothing else,” he assured. “I did feel a little familiar with you when we first met, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until you smiled.” He shrugged. “But that’s all honestly.”

Nothing else,
Bandit relaxed a bit and nodded some. “Just my smile, eh?” He asked some still with a similarly smile on his face.
I did feel a little familiar with you when we first met, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until you smiled. But that’s all honestly.
“Ya looked familiar too...glad we got that sorted.” He said looking to make sure no one was around. “How long ya been away...?” Bandit asked a little quieter.

”Just my smile, eh?”
Blondie cracked a small grin and nodded.
”Ya looked familiar too... glad we got that sorted. How long ya been away...?”
He pursed his lips in thought and shrugged. “A couple years I suppose.” He glanced over at Bandit. “Yourself?”
He was rather curious as to how long Bandit had been living this way. He seemed so set, unlike himself.

A couple years I suppose. Yourself?
Bandit nodded. “Bout the same...” He had to of been away for at least a year and a half. Bandit scratched the back of his head. “I left after one of my fathers fancy parties. Ya know showin off how perfect everything is...even if it’s fallin apart.” His smile faltered for a second as he thought about the night he left. His jaw twitched a little at the memory.

”Bout the same... I left after one of my father’s fancy parties. Ya know showin’ off how perfect everything is... even if it’s fallin apart.”
Blondie nodded sadly. “Mhmm...”
His parents always thought everything was perfect, but it wasn’t. They had no idea how lonely their son felt, and how he just wanted some attention. To be able to live.
“They’re too caught up with their own lives,” he muttered. “They didn’t notice I was gone until recently, apparently.”
He had to admit he was a bit bitter with his parents for not finding him right away even though he didn’t want to be found. Sure, he loved the newsie life, but if they had found him much sooner... it would have showed him that they did care for him to some extent.

Bandit nodded some. “Sorry...” he said softly. “I’d had to see my parents...” Bandit said shaking off the shiver that crept up. His father would kill him. He didn’t mean it figuratively either. Bandit knew he would be in the hospital if he ever went home.

”Sorry... I’d had to see my parents...”
“Ah...” Blondie could sense things weren’t quite well at Bandit’s home. He had his own problems, but they were apparently quite different from his fellow newsie.
“But,” he cracked a small smile. “We both don’t wish to ever return.”

Bandit flashed his smile again and chuckled softly. “Yeah...no one’s gunna make us go back either.”

”Yeah... no one’s gunna make us go back either.”
Blondie’s eyes darkened at the thought. “You bet they aren’t.”
He had left that life behind a long time ago. There may had been a time when he had thought about returning, but that was in the far past. He never wanted to go back, and now... he had someone he could confide in, someone who understood his situation almost perfectly. Perhaps coming to Queens was the best idea he had in a long time.

You bet they aren’t.
“So tell me kid...where were ya before? And what brings ya to Queens? Other then ya know the obvious.” Bandit smiled wanting to know more about his new found confidant. “Me it’s just as far away as I can get right now.” He explained a bit softly.

”So tell me kid... where were ya before?”
Blondie made a slight face and sighed. “I used to be in Bronx...”
”And what brings ya to Queens? Other than ya know the obvious. Me it’s just as far away as I can get right now.”
He cracked a weak smile. “Basicaly the same as you... my parents found me so I just ran here. They don’t come here and would never dream of finding me in Queens.”

I used to be in Bronx...
“Bronx huh?” Bandit shrugged. “Least ya ain’t from Brooklyn. Rip wouldn’t like that much.” He jokes lightly.
Basicaly the same as you... my parents found me so I just ran here. They don’t come here and would never dream of finding me in Queens.
He smiled his crooked grin. “Yeah...Queens ain’t the place people come looking for ya.”

”Bronx huh?”
Blondie nodded a bit sadly. He seriously missed his old borough... the first place that truly felt like home to him.
”Least ya ain’t from Brooklyn. Rip wouldn’t like that much.”
He cracked a weak smile, resisting the desire to shudder at the Queens’ leader’s name.
”Yeah... Queens ain’t the place people come looking for ya.”
Blondie nodded again. That was for sure... It might not be as homey as Bronx, but at least he knew for sure that he’d be safe from his parents.
“Queens seems all right so far.” He managed a slightly bigger smile at his new friend.
