"Nah, I never got 'round to it. Cards never seemed like a way to pass the time. I just sit back 'n' listen to people."Spot pursed his lips and shrugged. Well, not everyone liked playing cards. He had hear Mr. O'Quinns mention occasionally that one of the female lodge owners particularly despised cards. He couldn't quite remember who it was at the moment. "'T sounds interestin'. Could I... Watch you? I can keep a poker face too. I promise."He looked at her a bit curiously. He hadn't been expecting that question. "You don't have ta ask," he said slowly. "Free country, right? Anyways... most of the boys enjoy wathin' me, Racetrack, and some of the other guys play anyways. It's fine if you want ta watch a game or two." ((Okay, we'll just cross into Manhattan and then I'll start a board for us at Meddas's. ))

"You don't have ya ask."
Lacey smiled a bit, biting her lip softly. Watching a card game with people who actually understood what they were doing seemed really interesting and fun, so she was quite excited about it.

Lacey was actually really excited to get to see how poker worked, and she was even more excited about getting to see Spot beginning to open up a tiny bit more around the people that he cared about and was comfortable around. "Sounds fun. I'll have to make sure I do." She beamed slightly.
[Sounds good to me! My replies will come faster in about two hours or so.]

"Sounds fun. I'll have to make sure I do."Spot cracked a small smile. "Poker is pretty fun once ya get the hang of it." Poker was one of the few ways he could kick back an relax. It was nice being able to hang out with Manhattan guys and not worry about Brooklyn, but he tried not to do it too often. Boys back at home might start feeling neglected and might cause rumors to start flying and he did not need any of that! "First couple of games are always slow," he informed her. "It should be fairly easy for ya ta follow the game." ((Okay I got some homework to do and lunch to eat, but I'll be floating online waiting whenever you're online.))

"Poker is pretty fun once ya get the hang of it." Seeing Spot smile - even if it was only slightly - was enough to bring a bright smile to her lips. He had a nice smile when he would show it, although that wasn't nearly as often as anyone really liked. "First couple of games are always slow. It should be fairly easy for ya ta follow the game." Lacey nodded briefly, figuring that she would eventually manage to get the hang of what they were doing. She wasn't stupid, but she could be slow sometimes, so the first few games being slow would probably be a good thing in her book. "Sounds good to me. Even if I can't follow along, though, it would still be fun to watch." She smiled softly. [Sounds good to me! I'll be around somewhere! Have fun with homework ]

"Sounds good to me. Even if I can't follow along, though, it would still be fun to watch."Spot nodded. He had always thought card games were fun to watch. He liked the strategies you could pull and how you could trick people with a poker face. It was alot of fun, especially when playing with Racetrack. He was seriously so easy to read. He stuffed his hands into his pockets once more as they began to cross the bridge back into Manhattan. ((I'll try. College algebra can be quite painful. XD I'll probably start the new thread after your next reply. ))

[Oh gosh haha I wouldn't know. Algebra can be fun at times but college level is probably a lot more confusing. Alright, that sounds good to me, I'll reply when I can. I'm going out to breakfast but as far as I know, I have nothing for the rest of today after that.]
Spot seemed to agree with her, which was all of the confirmation that Lacey really needed. She would get to know that Manhattan newsies, see Spot relax, and spend time with him so that she could try figuring out a bit more about her character. Plus, she would be able to watch a card game, which she had never been interested in doing before.
Following Spot silently, the girl headed into Manhattan.
