Ace hadn't been in Brooklyn in quite a while. It was only borough that he had avoided for the most part. He didn't like the old memories the borough brought, but on rare occasions, he would visit the borough to see an old friend or play cards. Today was different. He was here to find Lacey and discuss how things would go for lunch. He had been able to talk to Rip, now he just needed to make sure Lacey could be there as well.
He had checked the park but hadn't seen her, so he had gone to the lodge. He just hoped Ms. Harbour didn't notice him...

Lacey had managed to stop selling right around noon, and with no sign of Ace, she had headed off in the direction of the lodging house. She just hoped that he would be able to make it happen so that they could fix things with Rip.
When she approached, sure enough, she spotted the familiar male lingering nearby, and approached slowly. Did this mean that Rip had said no?
"Is everything okay?"

"Is everything okay?"
Ace was glad to hear a familiar voice and more glad to see it belonged to Lacey. He gave her a quick nod. "Yeah, everythin' is fine. Rip's plannin' on meeting me for dinner 'stead of lunch. He said he had somethin' ta do."
While he had gotten pretty close to Rip, there were still things that Rip wouldn't tell him. Whatever he was doing, it was private, but had nothing to do with Spot thank goodness. Ace had a way of knowing when Rip was planning anything for that particular event.

"Yeah, everythin' is fine. Rip's plannin' on meeting me for dinner 'stead of lunch. He said he had somethin' ta do."
Lacey's heart dropped a bit when he had mentioned that he had something to do, though Ace didn't seem worried about it, so she figured that it would be okay. Not to mention anything now would be taking place in broad daylight, which probably wasn't ideal.
"Alright then, what time should I be tryin' ta meet ya?"

"Alright then, what time should I be tryin' ta meet ya?"
"A quarter ta five should be about right. Rip said he'd be in Bronx about then."
He was nervous but hopeful for this meeting. Perhaps this would be the moment they could convince Rip to call it all off.

"A quarter ta five should be about right. Rip said he'd be in Bronx about then."
All that they could do now was pray that they could somehow get through to him. Lacey just didn't want anyone getting hurt.
"I can do that." She agreed. A quarter to five it was then.

"I can do that."
Ace nodded. "Good... you know where the boys' lodge is in Bronx?"
If she did, then it made things easy, if not? Well, he'd give her directions or walk her there himself. Whatever worked best for her.

"Good... you know where the boys' lodge is in Bronx?"
Lacey nodded once again. One of the perks of being a bird was that she had quickly become familiar with the other boroughs when Spot would send her out to do things. If she ever didn't know something, she was more than willing to ask.
"Should I be meetin' ya there?" She asked.

"Should I be meetin' ya there?"
Ace nodded. "Yeah that'd be best. The cafe ain't too far from there. I think it'd be best if we walked together ta meet Rip."
He wasn't sure how the Queens leader would react to seeing Lacey coming up to them. If he was there, that would set Rip more at ease. At least, that's what he hoped.

"Yeah that'd be best."
Lacey nodded a bit. She hadn't seen Spot all day, but even if she did, telling him that she was going to the Bronx wouldn't be too bad. This would be good for everyone in the long run.
"The cafe ain't too far from there. I think it'd be best if we walked together ta meet Rip."
She nodded again. She was nervous, most definitely, but she wasn't going to back out now. She wanted to do this. She wanted to save Spot. "Sounds good ta me."

"Sounds good ta me."
Ace gave her a small smile. "I'll see you then."
He waved goodbye before hurrying back across the bridge to Manhattan. There was a lot of nervousness with the little dinner meeting coming up. They could only wait and hope that things would turn out all right in the end.

”I’ll see you then.”
Lacey nodded with another wave goodbye. Things could go very well or very wrong. All that they could do was hope for the former.
