"Shall we?"
Rascal smiled at Trixie and stepped through the door. Mr Tibby himself gave them both a wide smile and a friendly nod as they walked over to a relatively secluded corner table and took their seats. Rascal immediately picked up the menu and automatically began his favourite restaurant pastime of trying - and failing - to pronounce the rare few foreign dishes on it. Then it occurred to him that Trixie might not find this as amusing as his friends did and he quickly stopped.
"So," he said instead, "what would you like to eat, Miss?"

"So, what would you like to eat, Miss?"
Darcy chuckled softly and tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "Aw na need ta call me 'Miss.'" She picked up her menu and started looking over it. The menu hadn't changed much since she left. It was somewhat comforting to know that Tibby's hasn't changed. "Hmmmm..." She tapped her chin thoughtfully. "I think I'd like ta a hot dog. It's been awhile."
She smiled over at Rascal. "What about ya?"

"What about ya?"
"I'm pretty fond of hotdogs myself," Rascal admitted. "And to drink, I recommend..." He paused to peruse the menu again, before crying in a loud whisper, "the lemonade!"
Wow! he thought to himself. This is going surprisingly well!
It was true. Normally he avoided girls like the plague wherever possible, but there was something about this one that made him feel strangely relaxed...

"I'm pretty fond of hotdogs myself. And to drink, I recommend... the lemonade!"
Darcy cocked her head slightly and smiled. "The lemonade? I do na think I've ever tried it here. I will have ta give it a try." She smiled again and nudged him. "Since ya recommended it, I am sure it is good."
It was nice having lunch like this. Rascal was quite friendly and sweet. It had been awhile since she had felt comfortable hanging out with a guy. Her last experience had made her somewhat wary of having guy friends again.

Half an hour later, the food had miraculously disappeared. Rascal sat back, half wishing he lived in Manhattan so that he could visit Tibby's much more often. Anyway, on to the matter at hand.
"So, what's the easiest Gaelic word to remember? Or is that the wrong way to begin? Oh, I'm sorry if I'm rushing you, I just feel kinda nervous..."
He pushed a hand through his red hair as if to emphasize the point, and tried not to look his companion in the eye. He didn't want to lose his nerve now...

(By the way, I'm not trying to be suggestive with all my dot dot dots, I'm just very fond of them! 😊)

"So what's the easiest Gaelic word to remember?"
Darcy pursed her lips thoughtfully. She had never really thought about what word was the easiest to remember. She supposed it was because she had learned to speak Gaelic before English so Gaelic just came naturally to her.
"Or is that the wrong way to begin?"
She laughed softly. "Na, I do na thing that is na the right way ta begin. I just have na thought about wha the easiest word ta remember would be."
"Oh, I'm sorry if I'm rushing you, I just feel kinda nervous..."
She gave him a friendly smile and shook her head. "It's fine.i do na mind." She chuckled a little. "It's my first time tea him' someone so I understand bein' nervous."
She gave him a reassuring smile as he ran his hand through his hair. She wasn't judging him one bit.
((It's fine haha. I use a lot of periods like that myself.))
