Crackerjack picked up her pace as she left the lodge. The girls had been running late... never a good thing. It meant that she was running late. She was tying her hair back as she finally reached the distribution center. Her face was slightly pink with embarrassment as she made her way to the front of the line where the boys were waiting for her to open the gate. She really needed to figure out a way to get the girls ready faster... or maybe she should just leave on time? She wasn't sure as she opened the gate and watched the newsies enter in.
She did her best to ignore the curious looks the boys sent her way. She felt like a horrible leader to be late like this for the third time that week.

Snowflake bit her lip as she made her way to the distribution center. Was she late? She wasn’t sure... she never sold in the mornings, but with it being summer and school was out... her uncle suggested she try selling in the morning. She couldn’t really argue with him so here she was, hoping she wasn’t too late.
To her good fortune, the leader of the borough was just opening the gate to let the newsies in to buy their papers. It looked as if she was right on time. She pushed back a grin and lined up behind the other girls. Today looked promising.
