Ace normally didn't visit Queens this early, but he was making an exception for today. He just had this bad feeling... Call it what you will, but he just felt like something was going to happen and it wasn't something good. Rip hadn't contacted him, which really wasn't unusual, but it still bothered him a little. He had learned early on that he should trust his gut feeling, so here he was early in the morning at Queens. He knew that Rip usually sold the evening edition, but he also knew that the Queens leader came in the morning to watch over the newsies even if he wasn't selling.
He ignored the glares and looks he was getting from some of the guys and gals as he made his way towards the front of the line. He craned his neck as he looked around for Rip. The guy wasn't one you could easily miss. He was tall and just stood out... so where in the world was he? Ace was really having this sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He just hoped and prayed that his friend was all right.
