Opera walked into the bunkroom, and laid down on a bunk. her brother would be staying in her head for while, and she was already tired of it. not so much of him, but the guilt that came with him.
"i'll find you Frank, dont you worry." she said softly, as she walked towards the kitchen, for a cup of tea.
she hadn't seen Lacey all day, and she didn't see her now. maybe she was looking with her nose though.

When Spot had asked Lacey to look into Opera and find out what was going on, she hadn't really known how she was going to go about it. Was she supposed to spy on the girl, or just go up to her and ask straight up? Lacey knew that she had the tendency to intimidate people when she would just go up and talk to them about things, but there wasn't much else that she could do. She didn't know Opera terribly well.
Either way, when Lacey had finally managed to catch a glimpse of the other female heading into the kitchen through the doorway while she was heading back from selling, she had almost instantly seen her opportunity, heading back towards the kitchen to try catching the girl at a time when she didn't seem too busy.
"Opera?" She spoke softly, approaching in an almost cautious manner as to not scare her.

"Opera?" the tone of Lacey's voice calmed her down.
putting a smile on her face, she turned around. cup of tea in her hands.
"what can i do for you?" she knew full well what this was about. although she did get the feeling, she wasn't in trouble. at least not yet.

"What can I do for you?"
It was nice to hear that Opera seemed friendly enough, though it caught Lacey just mildly off guard.
"Spot told me ta check in on ya... says you've been late ta sellin' a few times lately. He's worried about you," She really was trying her best not to be intimidating, "Is something' wrong?"

"Spot told me ta check in on ya... says you've been late ta sellin' a few times lately." she knew it. Operah looked at her tea.
"He's worried about you," she looked up with a half suprised look on her face. Spot didn't really strike her as the worrying type. but it also didn't suprise her that much.
"Is something' wrong?"
she nodded some. "i always get a little restless around my brothers birthday." she said quietly, before taking a sip of tea, to calm her nerves. "he passed away, but i had already lost sight of him long before he did."

"I always get a little restless around my brother's birthday."
Lacey had to admit, that hadn't been the explanation that she had been expecting. She had thought that it was just a simple case of maybe sleeping late. Some girls had done that before. She had done it towards the beginning of being a newsie.
"He passed away, but I had already lost sight of him long before he did."
It had taken another turn, and Lacey found the small smile that she had managed to muster up upon entering the room fading rather quickly. She hadn't dealt with death since her parents had died, and she had no clue how to comfort someone who had gone through a loss like that. She still had all three of her brothers, and that was a blessing indeed.
"Do you, uh, need anything? To help?" She asked.

"Do you, uh, need anything? To help?"
a small, slightly sad smile got on her lips.
"i have heard he went to Hatten. and that he might've had a friend there."
finnishing her tea she took a deep breath. "i don't even know where he is buried" she said sadly. Operah rarely cried. but she did become sad sometimes.

"I have heard he went to 'Hattan. And that he might've had a friend there."
The whole story seemed incredibly tragic, and Lacey felt awful for not being able to do anything to help.
"I don't even know where he is buried."
Her frown deepened. "Couldn't ya go look for him? Would his grave be marked in the cemetery?"

Lacey frowned. "Couldn't ya go look for him? Would his grave be marked in the cemetery?"
"i have tried, a year or so ago, no luck." "i wont risk going to Queens again, it isn't worth the risk."
"as far as Jersey goes it's to far away. i won't be back in time for curfew."

"I have tried, a year or so ago, no luck."
Of course things weren't bound to be that easy. It wouldn't be causing issues if it was.
"I won't risk going to Queens again, it isn't worth the risk."
Lacey honestly would have offered to do it for her, knowing that she could easily manage to sneak into Queens since she had done it before, but she knew that Spot would never forgive her for doing something like that again. He had been terribly mad the last time around.
"As far as Jersey goes it's too far away. I won't be back in time for curfew."
She frowned again. "You could make it if ya moved quickly enough... I could make the trip for ya if ya wanted, just ta see if I could find somethin'."

"You could make it if ya moved quickly enough..." Opera gave Lacey a honest smile. "you are right, i guess i owe it to Frank to at least try."
"I could make the trip for ya if ya wanted, just ta see if I could find somethin'." "would you do that for me? i would really appreciate that. His name is Frank, Frank Roberts."
"or.." she paused a moment. "we could go together. that is, if you want to."
