Rip wasn't one to make visits to Manhattan. He stayed out of Manhattan for the most part, only coming to their aid when asked and/or needed. Coming to actually talk with Jack was rare. After all, the Manhattan leader was close friends with Spot. He wasn't really on good terms with Jack, but they still had some sort of friendship, albeit a very, very shaky one.
He was irritated to find that Jack wasn't at the lodge. There was no way he wanted to go around looking all over Manhattan for him, so he asked Kloppman if he could stay until the leader returned. For now, all he could do was wait.

The day had been relatively long for Jack, with the meeting for all of the leaders about the borders just over the horizon. Jack couldn't say that he was looking forward to it, knowing that not all of the changes were going to be entirely good ones, but he knew that it was necessary.
When he came back from selling to spot Rip at the lodge, surprise wouldn't have even begun to describe exactly what he felt. A frown formed on his lips as he approached, unsure what would possibly be wrong that would bring Rip to Manhattan. "Rip?"

"Rip?"
It hadn't been a long wait, but it had been a wait nonetheless. "Took you long enough... We need to talk."
That wasn't enough information for Jack, he supposed, but it should be enough to show the Manhattan leader that he was ticked off at something. H

"Took you long enough..."
Jack blinked. So Rip had come here looking for him after all? "I just finished sellin'."
"We need to talk."
A frown settled on Jack's face. Had something happened? "We can talk in the office." He nodded towards Kloppman's back office. The old man had allowed Jack to talk to a fair amount of people in there if he wasn't using it, and the man had gone out a while prior to do something or another. If this was something serious, then Kloppman would understand.

"I just finished sellin'."
Rip snorted softly but nodded.
"We can talk in the office."
He nodded in agreement and followed Jack into the back office and closing the door once the both were inside. No one else was around to eavesdrop, so he would get straight to the point.
"We've got a rat. All of Queens somehow knows about that meetin'." And from what he gathered... "Harlem and Bronx too. It's not any of my boys..." But it could have been a girl. He couldn't say since he didn't know how a girl would pick up that information when the Manhattan leader had told him inside the boys' lodge.

"We've got a rat. All of Queens somehow knows about that meetin'."
Jack sighed softly. He had heard about it. No one in Manhattan knew except Race, and that had been because Jack told him about it.
"Harlem and Bronx too. It's not any of my boys..."
He bit his lip. "Should we be movin' the meetin'?" Jack wasn't sure if it would help, but they could make it happen if it was really going to be a big deal. It wasn't good to have everyone knowing about the borough leaders getting together for this. "Did someone in Bronx or Harlem spill it?"

”Should we be movin’ the meetin’?”
Rip shrugged. “I’d like to move it... but it’s up to you.” After all, Jack was the one who intimated the invitation. Rip was actually pretty diplomatic when Brooklyn wasn’t closely involved, and he respected Jack as a leader even if the guy was close to Spot. For the most part, Jack had not really interferes with Rip and Spot enough to Queens leader irritated.
”Did someone in Bronx and Harlem spill it?l
He shrugged again with a scowl. “I don’t know.” He crossed his arms. “I don’t stick my nose in other boroughs’ business.” He kept out of Brooklyn and didn’t sneak around to find out information on the borough. His target was only Spot. Plus, he had made a promise to the previous leader of Queens that he would not enter Brooklyn with bad intentions.
And... he honestly believed someone from Brooklyn spilled it, but he wasn’t going to say that to Jack. At least, not directly.

“I’d like to move it... but it’s up to you.”
Jack sighed a bit. Of course, he knew that moving it was probably the best course of action with everything that was happening, but that was a lot of running around to the other boroughs. "We should probably move it." He agreed slowly.
“I don’t know. I don’t stick my nose in other boroughs’ business.”
He bit his tongue. He wasn't going to argue with that. "I can ask the others if they know anythin' about it when I go ta try settin' up another date... I'll get back to ya within the next few days."

”We should probably move it.”
Rip raised an eyebrow slightly surprised that Jack would agree to move the meeting, but he said nothing and nodded.
”I can ask the others if they know anythin’ about it when I go ta try settin’ up another date... I’ll get back to ya within the next few days.”
He frowned but nodded again. He hated having to wait... Queens could really use new borders, but they really needed to figure out who had rated out the information. Queens would just have to wait... again.

If there was going to be possible trouble surrounding the meeting, then it was best to move it while it was still an option. It would be a bit of trouble, but it would be better than everyone knowing exactly when and possibly where all of the leaders were getting together to discuss this. It would just be best to move things around.
"Thanks for comin'." Jack affirmed.

”Thanks for comin’.”
Rip shrugged. “Just doin’ the best for my borough,” was his reply.
He turned to open the door. “Don’t come ta Queens. I’ll meet up with you her win ‘Hattan in two days.” That should give Jack enough time to think about a new date. He didn’t want to meet again in his borough. While he didn’t think any of his boys was the rat, he didn’t want to risk it.

“Just doin’ the best for my borough,”
Jack nodded. Whatever it took for the borough, that was the leader's job. If nothing else, Rip was undeniably a good leader.
“Don’t come ta Queens. I’ll meet up with you her win ‘Hattan in two days.”
He nodded again. "I can have everythin' set by then." Two days would be enough to run around and tell everyone... at least, he hoped that it would be.

”I can have everythin’ set by then.”
Rip nodded again. “Sounds good. Until then.”
He let the door stay open for Jack as he left the office and the lodge. He had contacted Jack as he planned... now to head back home and wait.
