The days were getting hotter, but that really wasn't surprising. Summer was always so hot in New York. But lately, things just weren't the same. Cloud could feel it... Well actually, all of Brooklyn could feel it. The change. It wasn't exactly a bad change. Cloud was relieved to know that Spot had chosen the next leader and it wasn't him. That was a big weight off his chest. But... things just weren't falling into place. Things weren't normal anymore. The tension with Queens had lessened considerably, but inside Brooklyn? The tension was lingering amongst the boys. Some of the newsies weren't sure how they felt about their new leader. And the rest... were just sad to see Spot go. He hadn't left yet, but he soon would. Perhaps after he left things would finally start going back to normal? They could only hope.
For now, Cloud was going to spend some time indoors away from the heat.

Honey quietly enters the housing part of the lodge, walking over to his bunk and setting down his bag, sighing before noticing the other boy in the room. He thinks about approaching, but doesn't really want to in fear of getting in the other's space. He could feel the tension around everyone, and he didn't really like it. Tension isn't something he likes, and feeling it like blankets on a hot day is definitely making him uncomfortable. He sits down, mostly in silence as he grabs his notebook, trying not to disturb Cloud.

Cloud had let his thoughts wander as he always ended up doing. He hadn't heard Honey enter the bunkroom quietly. That is, until the soft squeak of the bed as Honey sat down. The sudden sound in the mostly quiet room had startled Cloud, causing him to sit up straight and hit his head on the bunk above him.
"Ow, owww...." He rubbed his temples gently in an attempt to soothe the pain as he glanced around to see what had caused the noise. He wasn't surprised to see that someone had come in to escape the heat, but he hadn't really expected anyone to stay in the bunkroom. Most of the boys preferred hanging in the rooms below, playing games or snacking in the kitchen.

"Ow, owww...." Honey frowns, jumping up. "I-I'm sorry! Are you ok?" He walks over slowly, looking at Cloud. "I didn't mean t' scare ya..." He didn't really know how he scared so many people. He's quiet, but not nearly silent, at least he thought. The worried expression on Honey's face conveys that as he looks up into Cloud's eyes.

"I-I'm sorry! Are you ok?"
Cloud winced a little as he could feel a slight bruise forming. "Y-yeah... I'm fine. Just hit my head..."
"I didn't mean t' scare ya..."
He blinked in surprised. "I wasn't scared... or startled." That was the better word. He was actually a bit surprised, but there was no need to let Honey know that. "I sat up to fast... wasn't payin' attention." It was a simple excuse and mostly true. He wasn't called "Cloud" for no reason. His head was almost always up there in the clouds. It really was amazing that he had been able to be a bird for Spot for so long... It made him wonder if Bridges would want to keep him as a bird. He wasn't really close to Bridges. Or any of the birds for that matter. It was possible that Bridges might not like him. He was almost always distracted by his thoughts, and he got sick alot. And well, he couldn't really fight either. If Brooklyn were to get into a borough war against Queens... well, Cloud knew he wouldn't make it.
He was so caught up in his thoughts that he forgot that Honey was looking up at him with worry.

"Y-yeah... I'm fine. Just hit my head..." Honey's face lights up. "Oh, good." "I wasn't scared... or startled." He cocks his head. "Oh. O-ok.... I'm still sorry, though!" He rocks a bit nervously, kicking the floor a bit. "Cuz, like I thought you knew I walked in and then you hit your head and I didn't mean for you to do that..." He coughs awkwardly. "Anyway!"

"Oh, good."
Cloud nodded absentmindedly. He wasn't really used to others caring if he was hurt or not. Spot wasn't one to show his feelings, but he would give a gruff "you okay?" sometimes. Mr. O'Quinns was usually caring. But those two were really the only ones that seemed concerned. He was so used to the lack of concern, that he really didn't notice that Honey actually cared.
"Oh. O-ok.... I'm still sorry, though! Cuz, like I thought you knew I walked in and then you hit your head and I didn't mean for you to do that..."
"It's fine," he reassured the younger boy. "I wasn't payin' attention, so it's my fauly."
"Anyway!"
Cloud blinked as Honey cleared his throat. "Yes?" He hoped he hadn't been zoned out for too long...

"I wasn't payin' attention, so it's my fault." Honey shrugs. "Well, still..." "Yes?" "Uh... I'd figure while I was here, I'd talk to ya, but... I dunno what t' talk about..." He frowns.

"Well, still..."
Cloud gave him a small smile. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine anyways."
"Uh... I'd figure while I was here, I'd talk to ya, but... I dunno what t' talk about..."
"Oh..." He was a little at a loss too. But at least that meant he hadn't been out of it for very long. "Um well, how'd sellin' go?" That was usually a good conversation starter. He had actually skipped selling. It was too hot for him... Instead, he did some chores for Mr. O'Quinns. It gave him a little pocket change and paid his rent.
