"What ya talkin about? It's ya job now!"
Blondie shook his head hard. "I don't think so! I don't like waking up so early..." He yawned as if to prove his point. "I won't get any sleep at this rate. I got stars to see."
His eyes widened slightly as he saw Smolder come towards the gate. It made him pick up his pace and stay closer to where Three Left was selling. Smolder was rather intimidating. Taller and bigger than Blondie. A better fighter too. All around scary... and smart too. He'd definitely figure Blondie out, so Blondie needed to get away and stick around the younger boys for now.
"Hey... Three Left," he called out to the younger newsie. "Mind if I sell near you today?"

"Well sir. Ya are a bit late."
Smolder raised an eyebrow. It was odd to see Sand smiling like that when someone was running late. She must be in a good mood or something.
"So what's ya excuse now Smolder?"
He shrugged, not feeling like giving her an answer or spoiling her seemingly good mood. Though he did have a legit excuse. He had fallen asleep studying at college. This was usual behavior for him. He ignored almost everyone and rarely spoke. He was a loner for the most part, but occasionally he could get pulled into a conversation.

I don't think so! I don't like waking up so early...I won't get any sleep at this rate. I got stars to see.
Sand smiled and shook her head a bit. "If ya say so." She said happily.
She watched as Blondie moved away. What was going on? Why'd he go away...? Sand watched him for a bit till she realized that Smolder was ignoring her as well. She smiled and decided to bother him just a bit. "Ya ignoring me Smolder?" Sand laughed as she poked him a bit. She was being a bit of a bother because her mood was so upbeat. It wasn't rare but these times did happen. Smolder saw it more then most but that was on rare occasions she saw him more then once in a day.

"No, I don't. You're more than welcome Ch... I mean Blondie."
He gave the younger newsie a grateful smile. "Thanks."
Blondie moved not too far from Three Left. He didn't want to steal any of the other newsie's customers after all. Besides, he only had a few papers to sell so he'd be done before he knew it.

"Ya ignoring me Smolder?"
Smolder sighed through his nose. He had hoped she would take a hint and leave him alone. He tried to wave her off as he bought his stack of papers. Not too much, but not too little. He needed to sell a good bit before going to the zoo to work, which was another reason why he didn't feel like talking with Sand. But when did he ever really feel like just talking to anyone? Unless it was serious borough business or an argument, Smolder rarely talked to anyone.

Sand hugged a bit. "Well fine then. I'll just sell with ya," she knew she was being a bother but she just wanted to enjoy her mood, sand sighed and decided that this was gunna be the best option if Smolder didn't want to talk.

"Happy birthday, Daddy. Wish you were here."
Blondie pursed his lips slightly as he sold his last paper. He didn't know Three Left that well... He didn't know that Three Left's father had passed away. But then again, he should have known. Most of the newsies didn't have parents anymore which was why they lived at the lodge. He was probably one of the few who still has parents, though no one knew that.
He felt bad for Three Left. He didn't really know how it felt to lose someone you love. He would have to be more thoughtful around the other newsies. He was one of the lucky few after all.

"Well fine then. I'll just sell with ya.
Smolder couldn't help but sigh. He really hated selling with other newsies. It made selling take longer, and he needed to be on time to his part-time job at the zoo. But, maybe, just maybe, Sand would sell quickly and leave him alone. He didn't want to get dragged into a conversation.

Sand heard him sigh and her face scrunched a bit. He was being his grumpy self. Sand didn't mind that. They were close but still he was always quiet. She poked his arm quickly knowing he wasn't happy with her selling with him. "Smolder...I got a deal for ya. I'll leave ya ta sell alone if ya promise ya come see me after your done workin and sellin and stuff. Ya haven't been around a lot. So ya wanna get rid of me ya gotta promise ta come around when ya free."

"Smolder... I got a deal for ya."
Smolder raised an eyebrow. "A deal?" He wasn't so sure he liked the sound of that.
"I'll leave ya ta sell alone if ya promise ya come see me after your done workin and sellin and stuff."
He made a face. He knew he didn't like the sound of a deal.
"Ya haven't been around a lot. So ya wanna get rid of me ya gotta promise ta come around when ya free."
Smolder sighed again and shifted his stack of papers. "Busy..." he muttered. "I got class and work at the zoo."
Maybe Sand would take a hint and leave him alone? But then again... knowing her she probably wouldn't. It would be better to just agree with the deal and get it all over with.
He sighed once more. "Fine... you got a deal."

A deal?
Sand smiled softly. "Yeah a deal."
Busy...I got class and work at the zoo.
"Yeah I know. That's why I said when ya were free." She said nudging him a bit. "Know I can't have ya around all the time." She said with a playful smile.
Fine... you got a deal.
Sand smiled brightly. "Glad ta hear it!" She said as she moved in front of him. "See ya soon Smolder." Sand said as she moved off to go selling.

"Yeah a deal."
He made another face. Deals...
"Yeah I know. That's why I said when ya were free. Know I can't have ya around all the time."
Smolder shook his head some. "I'm older than most of the guys... so you really can't expect me to be around at all."
"Glad ta hear it! See ya soon Smolder."
He just grunted. He really wasn't looking forward to any socializing. He hoped that there wouldn't be alot of people at the zoo later when he went to work after selling.

After selling his last paper, Three Left decided to head towards the cemetery.
he could do paying another visit to Frank. it had been a while, so Frank might be getting lonely.
"i am coming Scout." he whispered.
