Ah...
Sand smiled seeing his cheeks turn red. "Ya embarrass to easy. Ya know I'm bein real nice and sincere?" She asked as she walked with him wondering if he really knew.
I guess so... just hard.
"I know it is...which is why I don't bring it up much...but this is the first time in months Smolder...months..." sand sighed a bit defeated. "I don't see how hard it is ta just swing by for a little bit once every couple a weeks. Even once a month." She ran her hand through her hair. "I like seein ya but I much rather have ya company ya know...?" Sand asked partially knowing it was a loosing fight. Smolder was an adult. He wasn't around a lot and he was busy. She shouldn't expect much but she missed him.

"Ya embarrass to easy. Ya know I'm bein real nice and sincere?"
Smolder shrugged, looking away. He didn't know what to do with these feelings. It felt so awkward...
"I know it is...which is why I don't bring it up much...but this is the first time in months Smolder...months..."
He scrunched up his face. "Don't care really... Busy."
"I don't see how hard it is ta just swing by for a little bit once every couple a weeks. Even once a month."
Smolder sighed. "I'll try... not makin' promises. Gettin' too old for newsie stuff..."
"I like seein ya but I much rather have ya company ya know...?"
He pursed his lips, feeling a bit guilty. Sand truly thought of him as a friend, and he wasn't acting much like one. He sighed again. "I'll work on it... Promise."

Don't care really... Busy.
His words hurt Sand. He didn't care? He didn't care that he was never around? Why should she care then? Why should she try so hard...? Sand crossed her arms and just kicked at the rock at her feet. Maybe she should let him go. Stop bothering him. Let him live his life.
I'll try... not makin' promises. Gettin' too old for newsie stuff...
"Forget it...ya are busy...I shouldn't be bothering ya anyways." Sand whispered not looking up from the ground.
I'll work on it... Promise.
Sand shrugged slightly. "It's ok...I forget ya aren't supposed ta be doin newsies stuff."

"Forget it...ya are busy...I shouldn't be bothering ya anyways."
Smolder winced. He had messed up again... He hated when he did this, but he didn't really know how to fix it. "Sorry... I just..."
"It's ok...I forget ya aren't supposed ta be doin' newsies stuff."
He sighed. "I'm sorry," he apologized once more. He was seriously bad at this.

Sorry... I just...
Sand shrugged defeated. "It's fine...really...you're busy. I need to do things alone ya know...guess I just wanted it ta be like it was..." Sand mumbled still not looking up and keeping her arms firmly crossed.
I'm sorry
"It's fine..." she said softly. "I'm gunna...gunna look at the tigers..." Sand stared at them trying to think about everything. She tried not to be so cold to Smolder but her energy was gone. Hearing him say he didn't care that he wasn't around wasn't exactly a help.

Smolder just sighed. He had messed up real bad this time...
"It's fine... I'm gunna... gunna look at the tigers..."
He sighed again. Sand was upset and he was really doubtful that he could make her feel better. It would be best to just let her enjoy the zoo on her own.

Sand went to look over at Smolder to talk. Maybe he hadn't meant it like she had taken it. But on seeing he wasn't next to her she looked down. He would just leave her with these feelings. He wouldn't even say goodbye? Why couldn't it be like it was when she first came to Bronx...?
