Astrid smiled as he pulled out her chair for her. "Thanks." She said with a small smiled. Looking over the menu she started trying to figure it what was a good fit for them. "Hmm...you have any thing you're cravin? Cause most everything is good." She said looking up over the menu at him.

"Thanks."
Ace smiled. "It's no problem."
After all, it was the gentlemanly thing to do.
"Hmm...you have any thing you're cravin? Cause most everything is good."
He glanced over his menu at her and shrugged. "I don't know. Everything certainly sounds good." He chuckled softly. "I just gotta narrow down my choices."

Ace shook his head. "Naw, I think i got it. Found two things that I might like tryin'."
"So. What ya thinkin about?"
He shrugged and placed his menu down. "I'm thinkin' either a soup or a sandwich." He glanced as a waitress came to jot down their beverage order. He gave her a smile. "I'd like the hot mint tea, please."

Astrid smiled. "That's great. Two things are better then ten."she said with a small laugh.
I'm thinkin' either a soup or a sandwich. I'd like the hot mint tea, please.
"Hmm...how about this. You get one and I'll get the other and we can split them." She smiled a bit and looked up at the waitress. "Oh mint tea...and a water too pleased." Astrid smiled a bit.

"That's great. Two things are better then ten."
Ace chuckled softly. "Yep."
"Hmm...how about this. You get one and I'll get the other and we can split them."
He pursed his lips and shrugged. "I've actually settled for the sandwich."
"Oh mint tea...and a water too pleased."
He glanced over the menu once more, eyes lingering on the teas. He would definitely have to keep this restaurant in mind next time he stopped by Queens. They had a nice selection of teas.

I've actually settled for the sandwich.
"Well as long as you've decided on something." Astrid smiled a bit. "I believe I'm feeling tomato soup and half a grilled cheese." Astrid said closing the menu and waiting for their waitress to return. She watched as his eyes scanned the menu. "Seein anything ya like?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Ace nodded and waved for the waitress. He gave her another smile. "I'd like the sandwich special, and my friend would like the tomato soup and grilled cheese."
"Seein anything ya like?'
He raised an eyebrow as he closed his menu and handed it over to their waitress. "Ah, jus' lookin' over it for next time."

She smiled. "There's gunna be a next time here then?" Astrid asked. "Plenty of things to eat."

"Thank you."
Ace just smiled. "It's nothin' really."
"There's gunna be a next time here then?"
He shrugged. "I can't say for sure, but I certainly hope I can come back here some time."
"Plenty of things to eat."
He nodded. "Yeah, they have a good menu here. I won't be runnin' out of things ta try any time soon," he joked.

Astrid smiled a bit. "Maybe you'll see me here sometime. I may even be your server." She laughed a bit.
Yeah, they have a good menu here. I won't be runnin' out of things ta try any time soon
She laughed a bit happily and relaxed in her seat. It wouldn't be so bad. They could enjoy their lunch.

"Maybe you'll see me here sometime. I may even be your server."
Ace chuckled softly. "Maybe. Who knows? If I stop by often enough, I'm bound ta see you at least once."
He was relieved that the lunch was going decently. He hadn't opened his big mouth too much. Lunch was going to be just fine.

"Of course. I'll see ya sometime."
Ace smiled softly. It was good to see her smiling and hear her laughing. She was rather different from the day before. It just hasn't been the best meeting for the two of them he supposed. Medda's theatre was rather rowdy, and well, he had come hoping to relax and not get questioned about Rip and his doings. He had been going to Queens a lot so people has started to get a little more curious about his relationship with the Queens' leader. His own leader had been pressing him some, but he hadn't asked anything outright just yet. Ace knew it would happen eventually... And he also knew that he would tell his leader, but only if his leader asked him. He didn't share anything that Rip told him. He didn't share it to a single soul. The only way he would share it was if Eip was seriously endangering someone, or his leader specifically asked him.

They sat there in silence for a bit. She smiled softly at him. It was nice just sitting and relaxing. Being in her place of work and not having to actually work was nice. Astrid hadn't been here on this side of the service since Darcy had left. She straightened up in her seat. "So...ya sister Lottie...what's she like?" Astrid asked leaning on the table a bit as their drinks came out.

"So...ya sister Lottie...what's she like?"
Ace took a whiff of his tea and sighed happily once the waitress had set down the drinks in front of them. They had brewed it perfectly. As an avid tea lover, he could tell that just by the smell. He took a sip before glancing over at Astrid. His eyes brightened at the mention of his sister.
"Oh she's a great kid. Real cute," he said fondly. "She's ten years old. She's doin' real well in school. Smartest kid in her class," he stated proudly.

Astrid smiled listening to him talk about his sister. There was such fondness. She wished she had something like that. Astrid wasn't given the chance though. "What's her favorite thing she's learned?" She asked with a smile before taking a sip of her water.

"What's her favorite thing she's learned?"
Ace furrowed his brow in deep thought as he sipped some more of his tea. "Her favorite thing that she learned? Hmmm, that's a tough one." He chuckled softly. "She loves everything she's learned so I don't know if I could actually pin down her favorite thing. I know she loves readin'." He smiled fondly. "She's the one who got me inta readin'."

Astrid loved seeing that small smile of fondness on him. It was a perfect fit there. Almost like it was contagious and a small smile found its way to her lips. "She sounds like something else." She said quietly watching him before taking her eyes away and sipping the tea.

"She sounds like something else."
Ace readily agreed with her. "She really is." He took a slow sip of his tea and stared at his cup for a bit. "She really is somethin'. She means alot to me. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for my little sis."
His little sister had been the one to keep him from running away from New Jersey. She had been there so many times for him. Lottie may not have known what he was going through, but she was always willing to help him out. She had given something to live for and something to enjoy living for. She really was his everything.

Astrid still had a soft smile but looked down sadness present in her face. "Yeah...I'm sure you'd still be something too ya know? Ya just seem like the helpful type." She said softly. Astrid wasn't too sure why she was sad. She had been alone almost longer then her parents had been apart of her life. Maybe it was because that loneliness had finally made itself know after all this time.

"Yeah...I'm sure you'd still be something too ya know? Ya just seem like the helpful type."
Ace shrugged. "Can't say... I'm not exactly the same guy I used ta be before Lottie was born." He sipped his tea and glanced over at a nearby window. He really had been rather different before Lottie was born. He had been more reckless and even more selfish. He had really hated Hoboken, but now it was just as much of his home as Manhattan had been.

Astrid nodded a bit. "Little kids tend ta change people. Never know if it's for the better or not ya know?" She said quietly. Biting her lip Astrid looked at the table. Her experience as a child after her parents were killed tended to suggest that all people changed for the worse around children. Tears slowly formed in her eyes as she thought about before. When her mother would smile seeing her father walk through the door. The way that you could just see the love in their eyes. Then before she could stop it she saw them staring at nothing. Their hands limp but reaching for each other till the very last. Tears started falling and she didn't know if they would stop. "Excuse me..." She said softly before moving her seat back and walking towards the restrooms. Astrid didn't want to be crying. Not now. It was a nice lunch and she didn't want to cry.

"Little kids tend ta change people. Never know if it's for the better or not ya know?"
Ace nodded as he sipped his tea. In his case, Lottie had definitely changed him for the better. He would hate to think who he would have become if it weren't for Lottie... and well, there was also another person who had helped him change, a person that he could never see again. But now was not the time to think about such things, he needed to enjoy this lunch with his new friend.
"Excuse me..."
He felt rather baffled as Astrid suddenly stood up and headed for the restroom. He swore he could see faint tears on her face. What on earth had he done to cause her to cry? He bit his lip and played around with his teacup. He had done it again... He just really wasn't meant to have girls as friends period. Bad things just happened when he was around girls.

Astrid hid in the bathroom for a short period of time. She had to force them to stop. She was having a nice time and Ace probably thought he did something wrong when really she was the who kept messing it up. Making sure that the tears were gone she stepped out of the restroom and went to sit back at the table. "Sorry about that." Astrid said with a soft smile. Astrid took a sip of her tea to try and calm her nerves.
